Perhaps the most powerful incentives are the ones we stop noticing. People often optimize for whatever is being measured, even when the metric slowly drifts away from the original purpose.
Thanks so much, James! After reading that post of yours this morning, I really hope it connects more people to your great writing and ideas. I'm still thinking about how great that value capture vs value creation framework is!
Hey Lamar i think this is a fantastic tool to track our own intentionality and play the “right” ball game.
Might I suggest: this even revives the “social” part of social media.
I mostly use substack on the app right now and the desktop to edit my pieces. I don’t think I’d use this tool yet, but I love what you’re doing with it.
I've never even thought about how “social media” has become such a misnomer when so many of us use it solely as media. That's such a great observation!
I really appreciate your support, thank you so much again!
Thank you so much! It doesn't work outside of Chrome yet, but I'll see if I can give it some encouragement and convince it to be brave enough to venture into other browsers too 🐣

Very interesting point! I generally think that some of the most powerful influences are ones we overlook, so that’s a really great thought!
Funny that I came here from your comment but love this concept, Lamar. The idea white-hatting principles of engagement is great.
Definitely up for giving the extension a go. Will sub!

This is honestly awesome. I wonder what it might look like to extend to other engagement/attention economy applications?
Thank you so much 🥹
Ooh I think that would be absolutely awesome! I hope somebody takes this idea and runs with it to other apps too!
